First it was the announcement of a new album, so it’s no huge surprise that a tour would be soon to follow for Jack White. The world’s fastest record, however, will not be accompanied by the world’s fastest tour.
It’s going to a really fun Record Store Day for a very select few Jack White fans in Nashville this year, that’s for sure.
White has just announced his second solo album Lazaretto, due out June 10 on his own Third Man Records. Listen to the track “High Ball Stepper.”
Bonnaroo will also feature performances from The Flaming Lips, Nick Cave & The Bad Seeds, Kaskade, Damon Albarn, Neutral Milk Hotel and many, many more.
‘A Letter Home’ is “an unheard collection of rediscovered songs from the past recorded on ancient electro mechanical technology captures and unleashes the essence of something that could have been gone forever,” Young’s website states.
According to one blog, the duo have already recorded covers of a few folk classics.
This June 6-9 we hope and pray for no rain, as we get a huge bill which includes Interpol, Foster the People, J. Cole, The 1975, Sleigh Bells and Tyler the Creator.
By the sounds of Dead Weather’s new song “Rough Detective” there might be something in the water down at Third Man Records.
The Dead Weather just released into the digital sphere the new single “Open Up (That’s Enough)”, which will possibly appear on their new album which is slated for release in, literally wait for it, the year 2015.
Jack White, 38, now has his own tribute album performed by legendary artists who influenced him.
