Kat Corbett and 3 lucky KROQ winners recently took a trip north to Salinas, CA – home of the world-famous Laguna Seca Raceway – which was playing host to Mercedes-Benz’ AMG Driving Academy.
In short, their day included an introduction to the high-performance vehicles, learning Line Techniques on the infamous Laguna Seca corkscrew, handling wet corners, drag racing, stopping techniques, driving the track and the drivers’ favorite Autocross event.
The vehicles on hand were the Mercedes-Benz E63, SL63, SLS, CLS63, C63 Coupe and SLK55 AMG models. Drivers learned the fundamentals of vehicle dynamics and controlled maneuvers using customized exercises. Once they perfected vehicle control and handling, they progressed in the afternoon to a set of high speed exercises that made use of the entire track.
