In contrast to the two-week East Coast series of small clubs following Charli’s SXSW performance earlier this spring, this new tour is comprised of medium-sized theaters sprinkled with a handful of festivals including Seattle’s Bumbershoot and Rochester’s Meadow Brook.

“There’s going to be a bigger stage production on this tour,” explained IAMSOUND label rep Paul Tao to Radio.com.

Opening up a series of shows for Marina & The Diamonds, most people were “only familiar with three or four songs,” Tao explained. “They were hyped on it but they weren’t true fans just yet. But now people have the album and they’ve had time to digest it.”

Unlike performances opening for other acts, “this new tour is designed to bring people into her world.”

After premiering the song in concert last month, British rockers the Arctic Monkeys have released the studio version of their new single, “Do I Wanna Know?”

The band’s sound continues to evolve beyond the snappy and upbeat kick of early singles like “I Bet You Look Good on the Dancefloor,” with the new single riding on a slow-burning big-beat stomp, falsetto backing vocals and a massive sing-along chorus.

“Mobygratis is a website I started four or five years ago, and basically gives free music to film students, nonprofits, indie filmmakers, and the music is free,” Moby explains in a new video posted earlier this week (below). “Well, the music is free as long as it’s used in non-commercial films. When the music is used in a commercial film, any money that’s generated goes to the Humane Society, so I get nothing.”

Among the available music on the site includes Moby’s two most recent full-length albums, 2011′s Destroyed and 2009′s Wait for Me, as well as tracks from other releases, including his massively successful 1999 LP, Play, which has sold more than 12 million copies worldwide. There is also a large selection of unreleased music available on the website.

“There is quiet music and loud music and fast music and slow music,” Moby explained in the video. “So my hope is that somewhere on mobygratis.com you’ll find the music that you’re looking for for your indie film.”

New to the KROQ Playlist but already at the #8 spot is Lorde with “Royals.” The New Zealander is just 16 years old and looks to have a long career ahead of her.

Also new to the playlist is another band from down under, Australians Tame Impala with their new track, “Elephant.”

After a brief stint at #2, The Neighbourhood’s “Sweater Weather” is back at #1, bumping “Safe and Sound” by Capital Cities to #3. Making a huge jump is Daft Punk’s “Get Lucky,” up from #13 to #2. Jay-Z makes announcements in Galaxy spots, but Eminem is taking it to the streets. Late Tuesday (June 18) night, he Tweeted out a new track that will be released on DJ Tony Touch’s next mixtape called “Symphony In H.”

Eminem has been absent from the public eye since 2010′s Recovery. This new track is sure to fuel speculation that he’s working on a follow-up. The mixtape is titled PieceMaker 3…Return Of The 50 MCs and is available to preorder on Bandcamp.

Neither band members Ben Gibbard of Death Cab for Cutie fame or producer Jimmy Tamborello make an appearance in the surreal clip, directed by AB/CD/CD, and finds a hapless coin laundry patron trapped in a world where it’s the world that goes into spin cycle instead of the clothes.

The live version of the band, which includes Jenny Lewis and Laura Burhenn, have been warmly received onstage this year, with acclaimed performances at festivals like Coachella and a triumphant two-night stand at Brooklyn’s Barclays Center arena.
