Kevin & Bean’s Halloween Classic “Halloween Spooks” Gets A Modern Update

Six years ago we heard from a Kevin and Bean listener wanting information about a wacky song he had heard us play every October called “Halloween Spooks.”  Here is that song, from a 1962 album by the jazz trio Lambert, Hendricks & Ross.

That listener was Bobby Roe, an aspiring filmmaker working on his first movie, and he wanted to use that song in his first film. And he did. That movie was “The Houses October Built” and it was the surprise Halloween hit of 2014. It was a “found footage” movie about the terrifying behind-the- scenes stories of real-life haunted houses across America.

Well, now Bobby is back and he has updated “Halloween Spooks” for “The Houses That October Built 2,” in theaters September 22. Check out this new version by Kent Holmes from the soundtrack (available on iTunes now.) We are delighted to premiere the song’s video here.

Here’s the trailer for the new flim, “The Houses October Built 2”!

P.S. Bean also talked to Bobby on Episode 8 of “Thanks For That Podcast, Bean!” about his movies and about the crazy twists and turns licensing the original “Halloween Spooks” took. Listen here.
