Yesterday afternoon Stryker world premiered AFI’s new song “Snow Cats,” but first he spoke with frontman Davey Havok about the band’s latest releases. Havok called in and talked about the excitement surrounding the release.
“I’m just excited. I’m not nervous because none of that type of thing gets me nervous because I am so happy with what I’ve created. I hope that people really enjoy it, and if they don’t that’s OK too, but I’m just really excited that they have the opportunity to hear it,” says Havok. The band released two singles yesterday, “Snow Cats” and “White Offerings,” the first offerings from AFI since 2013’s Burials.
The band will release their 10th studio album, titled AFI (The Blood Album), on January 20th. “We put so much of ourselves into what we create and we spend so much time writing it,” continues Havok. “It’s always a big deal to us personally to give it to people, to share it with people.”
