Week 6 of the NFL is upon us and we can only hope it lives up to the hype of week 5. There are a number of stat and data-based tools to helps us untangle every match-up; who to choose and who to avoid. Last week he was 1-2, a downfall from an 2-1 previous week; our go-to guy to get the picks is RJ Bell (@RJinVegas on Twitter).
“Almost” Underdog Special: Kansas City Chiefs -1 at Oakland Raiders
Kansas City started as an underdog when this opened up but now they’re favored. RJ really likes trends, he made that known and sometimes they’re the most important factor in a game. When Andy Reed, the coach of KC, is coming off a bye he’s 19-3! Outstanding numbers. He’s also great going on the road so that’s working for him. Oakland at home is 9-22 vs. the spread and that’s not amazing… RJ is leaning slightly towards the Chiefs for the “Almost” Underdog Special this week.
Best Bet: Houston Texans -4 hosting Indianapolis Colts
We like Houston. The colts played in London just 2 Weeks ago and the first NFL team in history to not have a bye the following week. It’s possible that the lingering fatigue will work against them. Also, the colts are not a good road team at all. Andrew Luck in his carreer is below .500 on the road. Houston on the other hand, they only have 2 losses with both coming against tough teams. Best bet of the week, Houston Texans.
Big Game Special: Green Bay Packers -4 hosting Dallas Cowboys
Another game where home and away really matter. Green Bay the last 5 seasons is break even on the road so it could go either way. At home they’re 28-8-1, that’s amazing. Dak Prescott right now has tons of attention and excitement around him. One question Vegas is asking: How will he play on the road against a superior team? That’s something we’ll find out very soon. Dallas loves to run the ball and throw short so let’s hope they’re not down late in the 4th and need to make a run. With that being said, Green Bay running defense is outstanding! RJ likes the Packers to win this one.
