Remember kids, you can’t trust raccoons. That was the lesson that Guy Williams, a student at Bellarmine University in Kentucky, learned.
Here’s the story: Williams, who goes by the Twitter handle ThatShamuGuy, apparently became enamored with a raccoon he spotted. He named even named the little guy “Stanley.”
Williams wanted to film Stanley scurrying about, so he setup his phone on the ground and started recording. That’s when this happened:
Williams can be heard in the background yelling “That’s my phone yo!” and “Stanley!” and as the thief ran off into the night, recording for another 30 seconds before cutting out.
There’s a also a recording of a panicked Williams searching desperately for his phone while saying “call security.”
At the time of writing, the video had been retweeted over 75 thousand times!
And for those who are wondering, Williams reveals later in the thread that Stanley finally dropped the phone after William’s friends started calling it. No word on what happened to Stanley himslef, though we suspect he will live to steal another day.
