Bastille have announced their sophomore studio album Wild World‘s will be available September 9th.
The band will be releasing a standard and deluxe edition of the album. The standard edition contains 14 songs while the deluxe edition contains 19.
Wild World‘s cover art shows two individuals perched precariously on the ledge of an immensely high building. Speaking about the image, vocalist Dan Smith said, “To me, the image isn’t about what’s just happened or what happens next. It’s not about how they got there or how they get down. It’s about sharing a moment–two friends existing in that split second in that exact space, two people framed in the vast context of this huge mad metropolis that we’ve all built. They’re there out of choice.”
The art seems fitting since Bastille concentrated largely on relationships when it came to their new album’s subject matter. Wild World examines the bonds people form as well as how they fall by the wayside thanks to time, distance or some other factor.
Fans can pre-order the album at iTunes, which will give them access to the first single “Good Grief.”
