This Saturday marks the final KROQ Weenie Roast at Irvine Meadows Amphitheatre, which has played home to every Weenie Roast with the exception of 2000’s show (which took place at Angel Stadium).
While the Main Stage features household names like Red Hot Chili Peppers, Weezer, and Garbage – the side stage has been home to several upcoming bands, many of which have become huge artists or graduated to playing the Main Stage.
The side stage, this year named the Bud Light Party Stage, consists of two stages side-by-side that alternates acts so there’s no downtime between sets. Make sure to get to Irvine Meadows early enough to catch these incredible acts Saturday! Doors are at 12pm & the first band takes the stage at 2pm!
*Full set times, venue info + more will be posted later this week
Denmark’s most popular live act Lukas Graham looks to continue their massive year. Their single “7 Years,” which was added to the KROQ playlist in November 2015, continues to climb the charts – even peaking at #2 on the Billboard Hot 100 chart. Check out the video above when they stopped by KROQ earlier this year.
Hailing from Canada, The Strumbellas have also had a huge 2016 with their single “Spirits.” The band recently released their new album, Hope, and stopped by KROQ earlier this year to perform a few tracks for us.
NOTHING BUT THIEVES
After performing at our KROQ Snow and Show Deck Party earlier this year, we knew we had to invite British band Nothing But Thieves back to So Cal. Fortunately for them, they’ll be performing on a sunny stage in Irvine instead of chilly Wrightwood.
Bishop Briggs recently broke out onto the scene with her single “River,” which was added to the KROQ playlist towards the end of March. In addition to her performance at Weenie Roast this Saturday, she’ll also be playing a sold out show at the Troubadour June 7th.
Bear Hands‘ latest album You’ll Pay For This is the 3rd from this Brooklyn band, which features their current single “2am.” You may also remember them from their 2013 single “Giants.” We’re stoked to see these guys open up KROQ Weenie Roast 2016.
If you can’t make the show, we’ll be broadcasting live (commercial free) from 12pm-10pm featuring live interviews and select performances! Tune in, listen live on your computer, or on your smartphone using the Radio.com app!
