One of North American’s biggest rock festivals is surprisingly not in the U.S.
The 8th annual Amnesia Rock Fest will take place June 14-15 in Montebello, Quebec, Canada. Adjacent to the Ottawa River, the sleepy farming village boasts a whopping population of around 900, which is trumped only by the number of cows.
Among the 2013 acts are Rise Against, The Offspring, Alice Cooper, Marilyn Manson, Deftones, Social Distortion, Rancid, Lamb of God, Pennywise, Anthrax, Dropkick Murphys, Killswitch Engage and Transplants.
Formerly known as Outaouais Rock, Amnesia Rockfest‘s two-day event featuring more than 150 bands was founded in 2005 by Alex Martel, a seventeen year-old music fan. According to a release, Amnesia Rock Fest is regarded as the biggest rock festival in Quebec.
Alternative festivities are said to include buskers and fire-spitters who will bring a carnival-theme.
Like most large-scale festivals, Amnesia offers one-day and weekend passes as well as camping packages. Weekend passes are priced competitively at $79.00.
