From frontman Jonsi’s unique delivery and admittedly gibberish lyrics (band calls the language “Vonlenska”) to their inventive use of sounds and instruments to craft their music, Iceland’s Sigur Rós has never been the conventional alternative band.
The band recently took that a step in the non-conventional direction when they announced their own officially scented candles.
Available at the band’s web store, the Vardeldur candle is described as smelling “of Sigur Rós’s studio, while they go about the quasi-mystical business of making the magic happen.”
Need more specifics before you take the $23.50 plunge into Sigur Rós aromatherapy? They description continues adding that the candle has “smoky, slightly briny smell of a flotsam campfire on a distant black beach under a wan midnight sun.”
Grab your credit card and get a little scent of Iceland.
