Alkaline Trio Debut New Single “I Wanna Be A Warhol” From Mysterious Forthcoming Album
Alkaline Trio have released new song “I Wanna Be a Warhol,” the first single from their much anticipated ninth studio album, which is yet to be titled.
The new song is a mysterious return, as there is virtually no information available about the new album, with the band promising to reveal the details on Tuesday, February 5.
“It’s cool with the Trio because we take simple ideas – Dan will bring his idea, Derek will bring his idea or I’ll bring my idea and we’ll rip it apart, then rebuild it into something that we all have an influence on,” the band’s frontman Matt Skiba told Punknews.org last year on his working relationship with bandmates Dan Andriano and Derek Grant.
“I’m in LA, Derek’s in Minnesota and Danny’s in Florida,” Skiba added. “Luckily we have computers and we just send each other ideas and we start to get a rhythm for what kind of record it’ll be”
Skiba spent much of 2012 leading Matt Skiba and the Sekrets, a veritable super-group featuring Jarrod Alexander of My Chemical Romance and Hunter Burgan of AFI, with the trio releasing the album Babylon last spring, followed by extensive touring.
