In an exclusive interview with KROQ DJ Stryker after a triumphant performance kicking off the first night of this year’s Almost Acoustic Christmas concert, Imagine Dragons’ lead singer Dan Reynolds said that the band’s meteoric rise over the past year has felt like a rock and roll fantasy come true.

“It’s been pretty surreal for us. To go to places that we’ve never been before and people singing to all the words, you know, I would say it’s a dream,” Reynolds explained of the breakout success surrounding the band and their smash hit single, “It’s Time.”

“We feel like we’re living in a weird dream. We’re just grateful for everything, you know? I try to take every day in and really just look and really take the experience in,” Reynolds added. “You don’t want to let it pass you by.”

Reynolds also took the occasion to announce the band’s forthcoming world tour in 2013, when Imagine Dragons will hit the road to support the Night Visions album with special guests Atlas Genuis, with Nico Vega (which features Reynolds wife, Aja Volkman, on vocals) and Royal Concept appearing on select dates.

The tour kicks off on February 8 at the Marquis in Tempe, Arizona, with dates mapped out through March 23, when they roll into Denver, CO’s Fillmore Auditorium.
