Not only does Huntington Beach, CA metalcore band Avenged Sevenfold have a track within Call of Duty: Black Ops II, but the accompanying video features the game’s animated cast of characters rocking out to a live concert from A7X.
For a game with such massive worldwide exposure, A7X surprised many by choosing to casually roll out out the video without an overdose of fanfare. This will likely appease legions of rabid fans who demand the utmost credibility from the band.
To create a direct tie-in to the game, animators wove in Raul Menendez and Sergeant Frank Woods, jamming on stage with the band. The video below can be seen in full during the game’s ending credits.
A7X is no stranger to the Call of Duty Soundtrack. In 2011, the band issued “Not Ready To Die” as part of the “Call Of The Dead” expansion pack.
The band has clearly chosen wisely with their choice to be associated with the franchise as the first edition of the game, “Black Ops,” brought in a mind-blowing $650 million in its first five days on the market.
