Recently freed from their long-time Interscope recording contract, Blink-182 appears eager to release new music under their own manpower.
“We’re really stoked. It’s a great time in our band right now,” Mark Hoppus told us in exclusive interview from London, where he’d just attended the premiere of the new James Bond movie, Skyfall. “We’re better amongst ourselves than we’ve been in years. It’s a real positive, excited energy between the three of us.”
Hoppus said the band would be heading into the studio to start working on new material, specifically, a new album for 2013 but did not elude to any new music being released this year.
Now, according to his latest Tweet, the bassist indicates that some of the new material may be ready before the end of 2012 in the form of an EP. Within Minutes, his pop-punk counterpart, Tom Delonge, posted a similar message, saying new material could be excepted before Christmas 2012, giving Blink fans with one heck of a stocking-stuffer.
We're releasing some new blink-182 songs in a few weeks. Watch this space.

Both members have stated they expect to release a full-length album in 2013, although it’s unlikely they will begin the recording process before their 2013 Australian concert tour wraps up in March.
Meanwhile, drummer Travis Barker and rapper Yelawolf are set to release their Psycho White self-titled EP, Tuesday, November 13th.
