After leaking online over the weekend, Jersey rockers My Chemical Romance have officially released two tracks – “Boy Division” and “Tomorrow’s Money” from their next album, Conventional Weapons.

According to a post on the band’s website by guitarist Frank Iero, the tracks on Conventional Weapons are from songs MCR was working on in 2009 after The Black Parade, but were eventually scrapped when the band went on to record what would become 2012 release Danger Days: The True Lives of the Fabulous Killjoys.

“I kinda think some of them are among my favorites we have ever written,” Iero said of the Conventional Weapons songs on the band’s website. “A lot of them are kinda f—ing rad….they just so happened to have been created in the wrong place, at the wrong time, and we as their parents were not ready to raise them just yet…and so they sat and waited.”

The frenetic, hard-charging energy of both new songs recall the band’s breakout 2004 release, Three Cheers for Sweet Revenge, in the rapid-fire tempos and scream-along vocals.

The band plans on releasing the songs in sets of two every month over five months, resulting in a total of ten tunes. Each pair of songs will come out on 7-inch vinyl singles as well as digitally, with “Boy Division”/”Tomorrow’s Money” ready to hit retailers this Tuesday, October 30. The next two songs, “AMBULANCE” and “Gun,” are set for release on November 23, AKA the day after Thanksgiving shopping holiday “Black Friday,” which is also the date of this year’s annual Record Store Day.
