After personally premiering it to a packed L.A. movie theater of fans earlier in the week, chanteuse Lana Del Rey has released the highly suggestive 10-minute music video for her new single, “Ride,” online.

The video, directed by Anthony Mandler, is a beautifully shot collection of vignettes starring Del Rey in various guises, as the singer narrates the clip with a sprawling poem about freedom and “for home to be wherever you lay your head.”

Filmed in the Nevada deserts outside of Las Vegas, the clip further crystallizes Del Rey’s faded Americana aesthetic with bikers, American flags, pinball machines and guns.

The night before releasing the video online, Del Rey cryptically tweeted: ““If you are in downtown LA at 8pm tonight – look out for RIDE at the corner of 4th and Main St. Then up on Sunset Blvd later.” Sure enough, the video was projected on a wall adjacent to the LA ART WALK that evening. The video was later shown on walls along Sunset Boulevard and in Hollywood.

The song “Ride” (produced by Rick Rubin) is part of Born to Die: The Paradise Edition, a re-release of Del Rey’s 2012 debut album (due November 13) that features eight new songs. At the “Ride” screening earlier in the week, the singer called the new songs “better than the (original) record. They’re really beautiful and inspired by that ‘60s Pacific Coast sound.”
