EDM mega-star (and boyfriend to electro-popstress Ellie Goulding) Skrillex teamed up with reggae legend Bob Marley‘s progeny Damian Marley for the song, “Make It Bun Dem,” and now the pair have released a politically-minded video to accompany the tune.
Neither Skrillex or Marley appear in the metaphorical concept clip, which portrays the magical means to which a Native American man and his son go to keep a corporate official from seizing their home for development.
The “Make It Bun Dem” After Hours EP is available on Skrillex’s OWSLA label, and comes with six remixes from the likes of Brodinksi and French Fried.
Speaking of remixes, Skrillex and Marley have partnered with EDM site Beatport to launch a remix contest, giving fans the chance to create their own versions of the dubstep/dancehall collaboration. The winning remixer walks away with a slew of prizes, including a Pioneer XDJ-AERO Wireless DJ System and having the version officially released on Big Beat Records/OWSLA. The deadline for submissions is September 18.
