Billie Joe Armstrong’s Sister Says He’s Fine, Green Day Is Still On For The MTV VMAs

In an exclusive conversation with Alice@97.3 in San Francisco, Green Day frontman Billie Joe Armstrong‘s sister revealed the nature of the illness and that Billie is on the mend and getting ready to keep rocking.

“Billie is fine. He got a bad case of food poisoning coupled with dehydration,” said Anna Marie Armstrong in regards to the illness that caused Green Day to pull out of a scheduled show at the I-Day music festival in Italy over Labor Day weekend. “Band is home now and prepping for the MTV Awards.”

Green Day is set to perform at Los Angeles’ Stable Center on Thursday night (September 6) alongside One Direction, Taylor Swift, Pink, Rihanna and Frank Ocean at this week’s MTV Video Music Awards.
