While HBO show True Blood and the Twilight series may have kicked-started the current pop culture trend for werewolves amidst all of those vampires, it’s MTV’s enormously popular show Teen Wolf that’s keeping wolf-men hot and sexy.

The star of the breakout series is Tyler Posey, the 20-year-old Santa Monica, CA, native who plays the title character in the spin-off of the 1985 movie of the same name that starred Michael J. Fox. On the show, Posey’s character Scott McCall deals with the trials, tribulations and inevitable social awkwardness that comes with being a teenaged, lacrosse-playing werewolf at Beacon Hills High School.

While Tyler Posey’s star continues to rise as an actor, he’s also a serious music addict, fronting his own band which is called Lost in Kostko. Given Posey’s musical pedigree, CBS Local caught up with the emerging young actor to talk about his five favorite songs right now. Here’s what he had to say.

1. Bayside, “Sick, Sick, Sick” (from the album Killing Time):

“It’s just sick, basically.”

2. Blink-182, “Kaleidoscope” (from the album Neighborhoods):

“They’re always going to be on my list. I’m going to go off their new album, Neighborhoods. ‘Kaleidoscope’ is just the tits, if I can say that.“

3. No Doubt, “Settle Down” (from the album Push and Shove):

“I do enjoy a little bit of the new No Doubt song. I heard them play it live at the Teen Choice Awards, which was great. (Singing) Get, get, get in line and settle down!”

4. Riddlin’ Kids, “I Feel Fine” (from the album Hurry Up and Wait):

“I don’t think this band is still together, but there was a band called Riddlin’ Kids, and I grew up listening to them. One of their songs is called ‘Tina,’ but ‘I Feel Fine’ is my favorite song by them. It’s such a great song. Look it up!”

5. Lost in Kostko, “Somebody”:

“My last pick has to go to a great local band called Lost in Kostko. You may have heard their song on the radio. That’s my band, but I had to throw it out there. Thanks, and enjoy the music. I hope I showed you some new tunes!”
