With all the issues surrounding the London Olympics broadcast, from tape delaying, to spoiling results, it seems fitting that they saved the biggest fail for Olympics Closing Ceremony.
Last night, the NBC cut away from the Closing Ceremony broadcast to air a preview episode of a new show Animal Practice, depriving US viewers of performances from Ray Davies of The Kinks, The Who…and Muse. You know, the band that wrote the “Survival,” the official song of the London 2012 Olympics.
According to The Hollywood Reporter, before going to a commercial, Bob Costas announced, “We’ll be back from Olympic Stadium in about an hour for the London closing party, featuring The Who,” then, “Stay tuned now for a full episode of Animal Practice, a new comedy, presented commercial free.” The Who performance did air, Muse did not.
Fear not, we’re here to save you! Here is Muse’s awesome performance, complete with plenty of pyrotechnics and a backing choir.
