She Wants Revenge Announce Indefinite Hiatus
On Friday evening Los Angeles darkwave duo She Wants Revenge announced that they’ll be taking an indefinite hiatus.
Just hours before broadcasting his Friday evening internet radio show, She Wants Revenge band member Adam Bravin (aka DJ Adam12) tweeted informing his followers that he had “very important She Wants Revenge information” that he’d be announcing on his show, which to the surprise of their fans turned out to be the duo’s hiatus. On Saturday morning the band officially tweeted the news from their @shewantsrevenge account stating, “We have decided to put @shewantsrevenge on an indefinite hiatus in order to pursue individual projects.”
Though the duo of Justin Warfield and Adam Bravin has found success with She Wants Revenge, pursuing their individual projects is nothing new. After the release of their second Album, This Is Forever, and after much touring, Bravin worked on a solo album, became involved in photography and toured as an in-demand DJ, while Warfield wrote several film and TV projects and scored commercials. As a duo they also produced Nico Vega and worked on a collaboration with the creator of Emily the Strange.
The band, which broke onto the radio airwaves in 2006 with their hit “Tear You Apart” (off their self-titled debut), recently completed a tour in support of their latest album, Valleyheart, and have announced some final California performances. Confirmed dates include performances at the Observatory in Santa Ana on September 14 and at the Belly Up Tavern in San Diego on September 16. Dates for late September / early October are in the works as well as a possible San Francisco date.
She Wants Revenge’s final tweet as of Saturday morning reads “’til death do us part…” leaving fans to wonder what the future may hold for the band after the lights fade to black at their final performance.
