In sync with today’s album release, The Gaslight Anthem‘s latest music video made it’s U.S. debut.
In the video for “Handwritten,” the album’s title track, the New Jersey-based rockers tell the emotional tale of a record’s journey from owner to the next. The viewer follows along as the record is conceived, purchased and traded until its unlikely return to the musician who created it.
Shot like a short film, “Handwritten” is speculated to have an alternate meaning. One YouTube viewer Filmaker93 commented, “I think its meant to symbolize that there’s a lot more romance and mystery if you get music on vinyl rather than download it. I do both but I do love picking up second-hand vinyl and imagining the journey it had to get inside that old box in the backroom of a sleepy antiques store where I found it…”
Handwritten is now available everywhere in Delux and Standard downloads as well as 12″ LP, Super Delux and El Jefe vinyl packages.
