Jack White‘s debut solo album, Blunderbuss, released in April of this year, has achieved both critical and commercial success, landing #1 on several charts worldwide including the Billboard 200 and UK Albums Chart. White will debut the video for his latest single off the record, “Freedom at 21,” on July 16th, but has already released this trailer.
“Freedom at 21” was directed by Hype Williams, the man behind the music videos of Hip Hop legends such as 2Pac, Notorious B.I.G., Jay-Z, and Kanye West, to name a few. The video pays homage to American Grindhouse while incorporating Williams’ signature style. It features scenes of White behind the wheel of a gorgeous HEMI ‘Cuda speeding down the highway cut with scenes of Jack White on his guitar.
After the video camera was turned off after a recent interview with CBS Local, White revealed that although he rarely drives while in Los Angeles, Williams suggested he take the car out for a drive to get used to it. White exclaimed it was one of the best times he’s ever had in Los Angeles. He turned up The Doors on the car stereo to complete the mood.
