Irish dance-rockers Two Door Cinema Club spilled details on their second album, Beacon, which will be released September 4th on Glassnote Records. The band released some eerie album artwork, a track listing and a teaser trailer featuring new music.
The trio spent the spring holed up in L.A. with fellow Irishman Jacknife Lee — famous for his work with bands such as U2, REM and most recently twisting the knobs for Silversun Pickups on their latest release, Neck of the Woods.
Through a press release from the band, singer Alex Trimble said: “Beacon is a much intimate record than our first, but at the same time, it’s much bigger and more inclusive. Trying to find that balance has been our goal for a long time and this record takes us one step closer to the band we’ve dreamt of becoming.”
As seen in the trailer for the record (below), the trio recorded at Lee’s home studio. Trimble added: “Working with Jacknife Lee was a joy and a pleasure. He shared our goals and played a huge part in putting the pieces together in the right way. This is an exciting time for us and we can’t wait to share the songs with everyone.”
Sound snippets from the trailer sound very encouraging for TDCC fans. Fellow Glassnote artists Mumford & Sons also have a sophomore album out in September, a yet-untitled due out Sept. 24.
