Next live appearance: No scheduled shows until our next month-long European tour which begins on July 30.  However we play in the Los Angeles area monthly on a regular basis. When we schedule a show soon we will gladly pass it along as soon as possible.

Favorite show we’ve played and why: Bologna, Italy – touring with Serj Tankian from System of a Down as the opening act for his European “Imperfect Harmonies” Tour in August 2010.  The Bologna show was absolutely amazing and one of the most rewarding, fun and uplifting experiences of our musical lives.

Our inspiration: System of a Down, Gogol Bordello, Queen

We made this song in: our rehearsal studio as part of our album writing process – it incorporates all different facets of the band into one song and has tons of energy. One of us started playing the opening melody and the rest of the band turned it into “Viza”.

Bio: Viza captivates the global music scene with an erratically amusing blend of energized rock. Traditional rock elements such as guitar, bass and drums collide with aggressive oud and percussion – this uniquely fascinating fusion, combined with dramatic and powerful live performances is Viza’s trademark.

Recorded at Frank Zappa’s UMRK Studios, “Carnivalia” is Viza’s most animated album. Inspired from Gogol Bordello’s multicultural rhapsodies and System of a Down’s (SOAD) notorious screams and riffs, Viza’s groundbreaking songwriting and experimentation continues to amaze listeners everywhere.

In 2010, SOAD frontman Serj Tankian served as Executive Producer of Viza’s previous album “Made In Chernobyl”. “Viza is one of the most unique and interesting bands I have ever encountered,” stated Tankian. Viza also supported Tankian’s solo tour all across Europe that same year.

Viza has performed alongside acts such as Prodigy, Gogol Bordello and Flogging Molly. Viza will also join Korn, LMFAO, The Roots, The Killers, and Axwell (Swedish House Mafia) on their upcoming European tour with a main stage performance at Sziget, Europe’s largest and most prestigious music festival.

Aside from a passion for music and touring, Viza promotes raising awareness of human rights issues and fundraises for various charities, homeless shelters and orphanages.
