When Davey Havok and Jade Puget aren’t working on tracks or touring with their AFI band mates, they’re toiling over Blaqk Audio, the duo’s synth-based side project.
Nearly six years since the band’s first album, CexCells, Blaqk Audio will release a followup titled Bright Black Heaven under their new imprint Big Death and distributor, Superball Music. Fans can download the album’s first single titled “Bliss” for free via their website.
Those familiar with AFI/Blaqk Audio’s fans know that they’re rabid. By and large, the Bay Area bands’ fans have stuck by their sides, regardless of radio play, mainstream success or lack thereof.
In an videotaped message from Havok, he welcomes fans back to the fold and proclaims big things are coming. “Thank you for your years of support, we know we’ve been away for a while,” says Havok. You’ve all been patiently waiting and we want to say thank you to all our fans who have stayed with us. We don’t have any news right now, but next week we’ll have some announcements… We’ll be going on tour and there will be a lot of great stuff happening.”
