Since 1992, Fingerprints in Long Beach has welcomed independent music lovers of all kinds. Originally located in Belmont Shores, their new location in the East Village Art District offers more than just your average CD retail store experience.
Nothing beats a good old fashion music store!
Fingerprints has everything from new and used CDs, DVDs, Vinyl Records and Blu-Ray discs. Above all they’re known for having a solid series of in-store appearances from bands like Foo Fighters, Cold War Kids, Jack Johnson, and Fun. – just to name a few. CDs are usually made after each performance and are available for purchase.
Signed posters fill up the walls. Some of them are by artists who have played at Fingerprints.
This place is filled with “music, art, literature, and culture,” says store owner Rand Foster. Their new two story location is four times the size of the original spot. It now includes a book room with couches and an adjacent coffee shop. It’s a great place to study, relax, or read. They have a bunch of awesome books in music, humor, science and technology.
Don’t hesitate to ask questions, the staff is extremely knowledgeable and attentive. If you’re a crate digger, don’t miss the vinyl bargain bins. Bargain prices range from .99 – $2.99.
Check out the staff picks near the cashier desk on your way out. Even though we live in the digital age, you must admit, few things beat the awesome feeling of walking into a store like Fingerprints.
