Beastie Boys’ Adam Horovitz (Ad-Rock) “All The Love That Yauch Has Put Out Into The World Is Coming Right Back”

Adam Horovitz, known more popularly as Ad-Rock, recently posted his thoughts on the loss of his Beastie Boys band mate, Adam Yauch.

“as you can imagine, sh*t is just fkd up right now. but i wanna say thank you to all our friends and family (which are kinda one in the same) for all the love and support. i’m glad to know that all the love that Yauch has put out into the world is coming right back at him. thank you.” – Adam Horovitz

Adam Yauch, known to millions as MCA, was diagnosed with cancer of the preaortic gland and lymph node in 2009. Shortly after being diagnosed, he publicly announced his condition. He lost the battle at 47. Since his passing, an outpouring of support has come from all walks of life, from musicians to fans to the Dalai Lama.

Beginning Friday night, musical tributes could be heard around the world. Friday night (May 4) Red Hot Chili Peppers performed “So Whatcha Want” during a concert in New Jersey while Coldplay performed “(Gotta) Fight for Your Right (to Party),” during their Hollywood Bowl and KROQ Weenie Roast performances.

Rising stars Fun. performed a few lines of “Sabotage” as part of their encore during a Washington D.C.’s performance while “Saturday Night Live” played a clip of the group’s 1994 performance of “Sure Shot,” while The Dirty Heads led a Beastie Boys sing-along Saturday.
