If you like video games and comics, you’ll feel like you’ve entered the gates of heaven when you arrive to the Frank & Son Collectible Show in the City of Industry.

Oddly, this place is open only on Wednesdays and Saturdays. People call it “the weekly ComicCon of Southern California.” It’s a paradise for nerds – a massive toy store with everything from old video games and consoles, baseball cards, Magic the Gathering, Pokemon, YuGiOh, Disney pins, Legos, apparel, coins, posters, and every action figure you can think of (most in its original packaging).

When you first enter it feels like you’re at a Costco. There’s endless aisles of merchandise everywhere. It’s guaranteed that you’ll find many forgotten, and some memorable items from your childhood. One of the first things I saw was an old X-Men comic book with a holographic Wolverine on the cover. This is the same comic book I own and have held on to since grade school. What’s it doing here? To our surprise they were selling the entire 4 book holographic series for $15!

I had my eye on this poster of Gambit and Rogue of X-Men.

Let’s talk about the crazy card games kids are playing now a days. YuGiOh is played in the “Dueling Area”, located at the center of the swap meet. Signs with player instructions are posted at each table. They basically state that it’s $1-2 dollars to play at a table. You’ll get kicked out if you don’t have a players stamp. All tables fill up really quick and get busy on Saturdays.

Overall, I was overwhelmed by their selection of merchandise. If you like comics you’ll have tons of fun at the Frank & Son Collectible Show. Parking and admission is always free.
