Following in the footsteps of pop music alums like Nicki Minaj, Lady Gaga, and “Princess of China” collaborator, Rihanna, Coldplay will be making their debut appearance on hit American reality television show, American Idol. Coldplay will be performing on American Idol‘s results show.

There are also rumors that American Idol judge Jennifer Lopez will perform her new single, “Dance Again,” with a special appearance by her younger dancer/boyfriend Casper Smart.

Coldplay are scheduled to perform Thursday, May 3rd on American Idol. The band tweeted that they will be playing two of their songs.

The band are also planning their upcoming European tour which will feature up-and-coming pop stars like Marina and the Diamonds, Robyn, and Frank Ocean who recieved tons of buzz after his tent-packed performance at Coachella Valley Arts and Music Festival.
