Many said vinyl would die out with the invention of the 8-track tape. Then the cassette; then it was the compact disc that would bury them.
However, vinyl has staved off the grim reaper for so long that it’s actually poised for a comeback.
As evidenced by the resurgence of the musical medium, there’s a group of people out there who share an appreciation for vinyl.
On April 21, independently owned record stores come together with various artists to celebrate the art of music and Record Store Day‘s fifth anniversary. Hundreds of artists will release limited editions as well as make in-store performances to salute music in its purest form.
