Orange County, California alternative punk rockers The Offspring have kept their fans waiting for new material for a whole presidential term–four years–since the release of their 2008 album, Rise and Fall, Rage and Grace.
On Rise and Fall, Rage and Grace, Josh Freese of Nine Inch Nails and A Perfect Circle fame was the studio session drummer, but the Offspring’s ninth endeavor will feature the rhythm skills of drummer Pete Parada–who has officially been with the band since about 2007.
The Offspring are not the only ones who have been busy. The offspring of the offspring have been making headlines as well. Frontman Dexter Holland’s daughter, Lex Land, recently made an appearance on hit reality music competition The Voice.
On the official Offspring Facebook, Holland wrote: “Leaving the studio in Hollywood now. The record is finished.”
The band will be touring internationally this spring with dates in places like Japan, Italy, and Austria with more dates rumored to be in store.
Unfortunately, Holland’s daughter’s television performance days are over–for now.
Jazzy Austin-based singer-songwriter, Lex Land, impressed judges Adam Levine, Cee Lo Green and Blake Shelton with her debut performance, but the singer lost to once-major-label-signed Charlotte Sometimes when they faced off with a rendition of Foster the People’s “Pumped Up Kicks.”
