Seminal punk-rock group Rancid have been teasing fans with news about their upcoming album for almost a year.

Despite frontman Tim Armstrong being busy with Tim Timebomb’s RockNRoll Theater, his collaboration with reggae legend, Jimmy Cliff, and creating a new album with The Transplants, Rancid’s new music has been a ticking “Time Bomb” awaiting explosion.

To keep fans from making a clatter whilst they await, Rancid has made their entire twenty year catalog of music available for free stream on their website. They’ve also booked a mini-tour which includes Punk Rock Bowling in Las Vegas–a favorite for Fletcher from Pennywise.

"]As for their new music, Armstong told Consequence of Sound in November that Rancid will be working with Brett Gurewitz from Bad Religion on the new album.

The recording sessions will be  “family reunion, a celebration with wives and kids and the whole affair” where they “document” where they are, so they don’t know what ideas they will come up with in that present moment.

“Each album shows us where we’re at in that moment in time,” said Armstrong. “With the songs and the feelings that we’re experiencing, so it can change a lot in the next couple months.”
