If you’re a sonic nerd, probably much like Anthony Gonzalez from [lastfm link_type="artist_info"]M83[/lastfm], not many other recorded mediums for music can compare to the old school crackle and hum of a record player.
Even in our digital world of single-serving mp3s, listening to records hasn’t gone the way of nostalgia. Rather, people like the creators behind Record Store Day, are making listening to vinyl de rigueur.
In honor of Record Store Day, a “hidden” track from M83′s critically-adored Hurry Up, We’re Dreaming will be released on limited 7″ vinyl.
Called “Mirror,” the lush six-minute tribal tune hidden within the folds of M83′s masterfully long album will only be released with 2,000 copies.
Of course, the song is available to stream above (and somewhere on the album if you can find it), but having your hands on a rare, physical copy of a hidden track?
Priceless.
