“Can A Brotha Get A Kidney?” Benefit Show At Saint Rocke Featuring So Cal Reggae All Star Jam Session

Come start celebrating New Years early with a benefit for my friend Sam Scarce at Saint Rocke in Hermosa Beach on Wednesday, December 28th. Sam’s worked with bands like Rebelution, Slightly Stoopid, Seedless, and other So Cal reggae bands and has one of the most positive outlooks on life that I’ve encountered.

Last year Sam was diagnosed with End Stage Renal Disease (kidney failure), which requires him to do 9 hours of dialysis a night in order to survive. With such a busy schedule of treatments and doctor’s appointments, it has taken a huge financial toll on his ability to keep a stable job and pay outstanding bills.

To help raise funds for Sam, a benefit show was organized for him which will feature an all star jam session with members of numerous reggae rock bands from the Southern California area, including Seedless, Tomorrow’s Bad Seeds, Pacific Dub, The B Foundation, Micah Brown and many more.

This will be a benefit in order to achieve the following:

1.) Create an awareness for youth to get annual check ups and blood tests
2.) Raise fund for future transplant donor lost expenses during surgery
3.) Help pay for medical expenses and bills

Admission is $15 (buy tickets here) and is 21+. This event will also be webcasted via Saint Rocke’s website here: http://www.justin.tv/saintrocke

There will be special videos played during set changes with education on kidney disease, as well as messages from musicians who couldn’t make it in person. It will definitely be something to tune into no matter where you are at, and most definitely somewhere to be if you can make it there.

There will also be a telethon, t-shirts for sale and a Paypal account for donations. Get more info here.

I have a site about kidney stones myself. It may be incredibly painful to get them. I had kidney stones again and again once again hate them a lot.
