It seems like a million years since we saw her as  ”Buffy the Vampire Slayer”, but Sarah Michelle Gellar is finally back on our TVs in a new series called Ringer on the CW.

She called into the Kevin & Bean Show this morning to talk about her new gig,  the challenges of taking on two roles in one show, and about her break from filming television.

In Ringer, Sarah plays “Bridget” a murder witness on the run, who assumes the life of her indentical twin “Siobahn”. As ”Bridget”  delves more and more into her sister’s life, she finds that her sister also had many problems that she now has to deal with.

Between playing the two characters in different timeframes, Gellar joked that “it takes a village” of help for her to keep everything straight from day to day during filming.  As a fan of television herself, Gellar says this is a great show with twists and turns, but unlike some shows (cough cough LOST cough), will actually answer some questions along the way.

Sarah Michelle Gellar also talked about her time away from TV.  She started work on Buffy when she was 18, and after 6 years of that show, took some time off to do movies, but also got married and started a family.  Now that she’s back, she wonders, “Why did I ever stop?”.

Ringer airs Tuesday nights at 9pm on CW.
