Apparently, it all started a few months back when both bands were on the bill at Radio One’s Big Weekend festival. Cage the Elephant finished their performance and were looking forward to checking out the Foos’ set, but their tour manager made them leave so they could make it to their next stop. Sadly, we can’t see your set because our evil tour manager is making us leave. If we don’t do everything he says, he burns us with lit cigarettes. We hope you understand.”
Fast forward a few weeks and the two bands once again found themselves in the same location…at KROQ’s Weenie Roast. This time the “evil” tour manager didn’t intervene, and according to Matt Shultz, “I talked to Dave and he was just a super great guy and he said we should do some shows together and, so, we’re doing some shows with the Foos…”
