Our friends in Chicago have a prime spot in Grant Park and are covering Lollapalooza all weekend long–check back early and often for show reviews, tons of photos, backstage interviews, and exclusive live sessions.
Irelanders Alex Trimble, Sam Halliday, and Kevin Baird are [lastfm link_type="artist_info"]Two Door Cinema Club[/lastfm], a fairly-new-to-the-music scene (they’ve only been around since 2007) trio with an upbeat, driving, electro-rock sound remniscent of [lastfm link_type="artist_info"]The Postal Service[/lastfm] or [lastfm link_type="artist_info"]Phoenix[/lastfm]. To date, they’ve released one studio album, entitled Tourist History, as well as a number of singles that have been lighting up the UK, Ireland, and U.S. alternative charts. In 2010, the album also won the Choice Music Prize for the Irish Album of the Year, which the band states is the first thing they’ve ever won. We know that it won’t be the last.

In 2011 thus far, Two Door Cinema Club has released single “What You Know,” which gained even greater popularity as a free download on Tap Tap Revenge 3 and has been touring on the Summer festival circuit (as well as Chicago’s very own Lollapalooza). The band has also announced plans to being working on a second studio album once they return to Northern Ireland.
