So here’s a new way of doing something. Remember the days when you would walk into a record store and buy the CD of your favorite band’s new album? Too old school for you? How about the days when you would log on to iTunes and download your favorite band’s new album?
Well, the [lastfm link_type="artist_info"]Kaiser Chiefs[/lastfm] have taken the digital music age one step further. Instead of organizing an album with twelve or so songs in a set order, they have uploaded 20 songs on their website and are allowing you to select any 10 songs to create your own version of their new album, The Future is Medieval. After you’re done choosing the songs, you’ll also get to design the album cover.
But wait, it gets better.
After the buyer creates their unique album, it is saved on the website for people to listen to. And if someone likes that particular version and decides to download it, the Kaiser Chiefs will give a £1 (about a $1.63) dollar back to the creator. Pretty cool, eh?
Go create your own album at their website, and check out this trailer for The Future is Medieval.
