This isn’t [lastfm link_type="artist_info"]The Kills[/lastfm] first time at the rodeo, this was their third time performing at Coachella Music & Arts Festival.

This time around, they did it right, despite the heat, performing to a packed stage underneath the glistening moonlight, and hashed it all over with Kurt St. Thomas when they came by the 2011 KROQ Coachella House.

Despite the insanely high temperatures, The Kills caught some of their favorite bands including Wired before performing.  Jamie told Kurt that it never gets old, seeing the crowd as they perform underneath a perfect full moon saying:

It’s pretty crazy perfoming outdoors and seeing all those people.

Blood Pressure, The Kills fourth album came out earlier this year.  The album’s sound has evolved over the years prompting Kurt to point out that the sound on the first couple of albums has been described as lo-fi but on Blood Pressure, things are a little different.  Jamie commented:

There a lot of things that came together that we didn’t plan.  It’s our fourth record and we’ve been doing this for nearly a decade.

For people who don’t really know you guys, you have such a weird and interesting story on how you met and how the band started.

“It was a happy accident, I guess,”  Alison explained.  She was staying in London and Jamie’s flat was upstairs from her and she would just stick around doing what she could to meet Jamie.

Jamie joked that it was stalking, but Kurt corrected him saying how terrible it must have been to be pursued by a beautiful woman.

The band essentially came into fruition from parcel post. When Alison returned to the United States, she and Jamie would write  letters to one another to stay in touch.

Jamie said, “After a while, the letters turned into packages.”  In the packages where the burgeoning creative juices including lyrics and artwork that would become [lastfm link_type="artist_info"]The Kills[/lastfm].

We’d love to start corresponding with Alison & Jamie, but for now.  This will do.
