drugs 385 [You Review] Destroy Rebuild Until God Shows "Sex Life"

[lastfm link_type=”artist_info”]Destroy Rebuild Until God Shows[/lastfm] (D.R.U.G.S.) is a recently formed ‘supergroup’ that has been making a ton of noise since the release of their first song in November 2010. The group is made up of members of several different bands who were all huge a few years ago, including vocalist Craig Owens ([lastfm link_type=”artist_info”]Chiodos[/lastfm]), bassist Adam Russell ([lastfm link_type=”artist_info”]Story of the Year[/lastfm]), guitarist/vocalist Nick Martin ([lastfm link_type=”artist_info”]Underminded[/lastfm]), guitarist/vocalist Matt Good ([lastfm link_type=”artist_info”]From First to Last[/lastfm]) and drummer Aaron Stern ([lastfm link_type=”artist_info”]Matchbook Romance[/lastfm]).

They’re definitely a band worth checking out. After hearing the album once, it immediately made it’s way onto my iPod. I’m sure it will do the same for some of you too. Their first single, “Sex Life,” has sort of a slow intro, but builds up into a cool, catchy song.

This needs to go into heavy rotation now!

  • frank

absolutely awful these guys and black veil brides are definitely the worst new bands right now

    • Frank Zermeño

Your exaggerating. Name a better new band of each respective genre.

  • Frank Zermeño

Their first single is “If you think this song is about you, it probably is” and it’s a MILLION times better. Sex Life IMO is one of their lesser songs, we need to get “Mr. Owl Ate My Metal Worm” played on KROQ, now!!

  • Cinthya

Total eargasm. The whole album is great.

My review of “Sex Life” by Reverend Justito

“Sex Life” is an unoriginal 3:30 jam that’s perfect for the few folks who still listen to FM rock radio. The hooks are straight out of every song you have heard on rock radio the last decade. In fact, rumor has it Three Doors Down, Hinder and Neon Trees are planning a class action lawsuit. The vocals are great, simply because Chester of Linkin Park has been doing the same thing for the last decade. Well, excpet for the chorus which stinks of Jared “let the audience sing woooooooahs as I run around with my silly mohawk” Leto shtick.

In closing, this song is everything that’s wrong with music today. Unoriginal, uninspired crap that is looking not to make a statement as much as it’s looking to sell T-shirts at Hot Topic.

    • Frank Zermeño

LMFAO, like I said, “Sex Life” isn’t exactly one of their best songs. Listen to “Mr. Owl Ate My Metal Worm” – it’s much better.

  • Larry

Catchy, melodic, powerful and pushing the envelop describes this phenom band called D.R.U.G.S. I think of Korn, Metallica, Limp Bizkit, etc…in the 90’s…MCR, Taking Back Suday, Linkin Park etc…in the early 2000’s and D.R.U.G.S. from here on in….
