The MusiCares MAP Fund provides aid to musicians in need of addiction recovery treatment regardless of their financial status. For seven years the MusiCares MAP Fund has been recognizing individuals in the music industry that have made significant contributions to the organization.
For over 30 years, Dave Gahan has been the front man for Depeche Mode. During that time, Depeche Mode helped define New Wave during the 80′s and has continued to perfect their iconic synth sound well into the 90′s and 2000′s, selling over 100 millions albums in the process. They’ve released 12 studio albums–the latest, Sounds of the Universe in 2009–all which have reached the Top 10 in both the U.S. and the U.K.
Dave Gahan will be honored with the Stevie Ray Vaughan Award for his continual support of the MusiCares MAP Fund and for helping other musicians with their addictions.
