California’s own rock legends Deftones fly the flag for rock in the Last.fm Best of 2010, taking the #34 spot amidst a sea of pop and indie types.
The band returned with fifth album Diamond Eyes in May. The album was warmly received and Last.fm listeners responded by scrobbling it incessantly.
Last.fm Trends takes a look at just how well Diamond Eyes has performed and how the band managed to infiltrate the Last.fm Best of 2010.
Diamond Eyes has taken in 4,146,058 scrobbles to date, with many tracks performing so well that they’ve been regular features in the band’s top ten tracks week after week. The chart below shows the top five most popular tracks from the record:

The track “Diamond Eyes” has been a clear favorite amongst fans. With 626,661 scrobbles, the track sits at the top of the band’s most played of the past six months ahead of long term favorites such as “My Own Summer (Shove It)” and “Change (In The House Of Flies)”.
“Rocket Skates” was the first single from the album and was released as a free download way back in February. Despite this, “Diamond Eyes” has proved to be more popular, with “Rocket Skates” currently at 452,334 scrobbles.
The band will start next year on the road, joining more Best of 2010 entrants on Australia’s Big Day Out tour.
