For Halloween, The Creepiest Song I Know

Everybody’s got their Halloween music playlist and though there’s nothing wrong with Bela Lugosi’s Dead, Werewolves Of London or Thriller, the essential spooky ooky song for me each year is the best song every written about a serial killer.

John Wayne Gacy, Jr., a sometimes childrens’ party clown who raped and murdered 33 young men and boys, most of whom he then buried in the crawlspace under his house, was executed by lethal injection back in 1994.

But thanks to the always-interesting Sufjan Stevens, Gacy is immortalized in song forever on his 2005 album Come On Feel The Illinoise.

If possible, the video is even creepier than the song.

Happy Halloween, one and all! May the Great Pumpkin bring you many gifts!

Leave it to Bean to turn a fun-creepy day into a disturbing-creepy day.
As background music, it could pass for Peter, Paul and Mary-type folk music. So if you play this in the background at your next party, make sure none of your guests are cops because you’ll be in the po-po in no time!
