grerendaypost385 What You Missed: KROQs Green Day Beach Clean Up

KROQ descended upon Dockweiler State Beach this past Saturday to participate in the KROQ “Green” Day beach clean-up. Listeners volunteered 2 hours of their time in exchange for a pair of tickets to the SOLD OUT [lastfm]Green Day[/lastfm]/[lastfm]AFI[/lastfm] show tomorrow night at the Verizon Wireless Amphitheater.

Over 160 lbs. of trash was collected from the sand and surrounding area, including small stuff like cigarette butts and styrofoam to the disgusting stuff like used diapers.

KROQ.com was on-site capturing all of the volunteer’s hard work. We’ve gotta thank LAcarGuy, the #1 hybrid dealer in the world with 10 dealerships dedicated to a greener automotive future.

It was a great day for a beach clean-up, and as usual, the KROQ fans did an AWESOME job of doing their part to help save the environment while getting some sweet rewards for doing so. Big thanks to everyone at LAcarGuy and Heal The Bay for an amazing day and a successful clean-up!
