It’s safe to say that [lastfm]Switchfoot[/lastfm] is one of the top KROQ bands at the moment. The heavy guitar-filled single “The Sound” has been getting tons of calls on the request lines, plus it’s won #1 Requested Song and #1 Video honors.
Want to hear the sound of “The Sound” live? You may be in luck. Switchfoot is coming to L.A.’s Greek Theatre this Sunday as the opening band for the [lastfm]Goo Goo Dolls[/lastfm]. And, luckily, tickets are still available.
The San Diego alt-rock band got its name from a surfing term that represents change and movement. Every surfer and skater knows the term.
The band has done a lot of work on film soundtracks, but its most recent album, Hello Hurricane, which came out last November, definitely made a wave with listeners. The band has already been working on the follow-up album, Vice Verses, but hasn’t scheduled a release date for it yet.
For now, Switchfoot is still busy promoting Hurricane. The band played at Lollapalooza and is scheduled to play the Austin City Limits Music Festival in October along with [lastfm]Muse[/lastfm] and [lastfm]the Strokes[/lastfm]. Right now it’s playing a string of concerts with the Goo Goo Dolls, including Sunday’s show.
Tickets for this Sunday’s show at The Greek are $46-$77 and you can buy them here.
