stryker gavin World Premiere: New Music From Bush Gavin Rossdale Visits KROQ

As you may have heard, KROQ‘s Stryker had a special guest in studio today. He promised someone who we haven’t heard from in quite some time and who has also sold over ten million records.

But of course, Stryker was talking about none other than Gavin Rossdale of the band Bush. Gavin stopped by to World Premiere the first Bush song in 9 years (since 2001’s Golden State), a song titled “Afterlife.” He also talked about how Bush’s first performance since 2002 will be at Epicenter Twenty Ten.  There is a “massive excitement” that comes with hearing songs for the first time on the radio Gavin said.

Bush is scheduled to release their new album “Everything Always Now” in October of this year.

OMFG Bush has been my favorite band since I was 10 years old “1995″. 15 years later my dreams have been answered , I might get to see them in Denver, Co. Please oh please play Colorado

Weak song for a band who’ve put out so many passionate hard rocking songs

  • Garon

Unfortunately “Afterlife” sounds like it could have done by any one of a number of bands (including Blink) Nothing “signature” Bush about it. I’m disappointed. Hopefully the rest of the disc is better.

Wow, Ive been a bush fan for years and when I heard that they were getting back together I was stoked beyond belief, but I gotta be honest….that song wasn’t what I was expecting. I remember back in 98 or 99 they released Spacetravel over the internet and I was stoked and the song was different, but good. This time Im not so sure.

Liked Gavin on Apocalyptica’s “End of Me” better. Afterlife sounds like Bush from about 2:33 to 3:07. I bought the mp3 though because I love Bush…the band, not the President…

  • pete

bush is one of my all time favourite bands too. i love every song they’ve ever done. But this is not Bush. this is just gavin. with dave on drums. I’ll still support them and look forward to hearing the rest of the album. But man! The lyrics are NOT good!. The song doesn’t evoke any emotion. It’s not going to please old bush fans, OR get radio play. It’s the worst possible scenerio. I WISH I could say otherwise

  • Mike

Tragedy…..I really hope the other songs on this new album are better than this one.

  • pm

Bush went from kickass to gay ass . sucks

  • Vic

    Waaaaaaay better than a lame-ass Blink-182 track..

  • mike

this song sucks what happened to the hard rockers it sounds like U2.

    • pm

Thanks Mike agreed ! apparently uriah doesn’t know about the original BUSH ! Must be a wimpy Gavin fan!

  • Uriah

I’m quite pleased with their new single. It sort of keeps to the original Bush. Meaning, they still have what it takes to prove to us that they can still provide something a little different than all the rest. By far, bush is still my favorite band of all time. Bush rocks!

      what! are u stupid

  • Nigel

I’m always in support of bands evolving, but the chorus killed it for me. GAVIN, when you write songs, think, “Is this memorable and unique?” Wanderlust sounds SOO generic and predictable. I can tell you’re going in the right direction here, but this surely isn’t your best and you know it :/ Try to stand out from the flock more. We’ve seen so much unoriginality in the past decade (movie remakes, recycled music) and we’re all craving something interesting. I hope the rest of the album is better. You’ll always have fans, but a comeback requires something more. Much love.
