When I see all the animals and wildlife that have been affected by human negligence from the Gulf oil spill it makes me sick. Not to mention the oil rig workers that passed away and the coastal fishermen who have lost their livelihood. For these reasons I support [lastfm]Korn[/lastfm] and their attempt to boycott British Petroleum during the summer tours.

This summer, Korn is headlining the Rockstar Energy Mayhem Fest (alongside the likes of [lastfm]Rob Zombie[/lastfm] and [lastfm]Lamb of God[/lastfm].) Frontman, Johnathan Davis is encouraging the bands on the tour to join in avoiding the use of all BP oil and partnering companies for their buses and vehicles.
“We need to do our part to let BP know there are consequences for causing something like this,” said Davis via press release. [pullquote quote="We want to send a message to corporations like BP..." credit="J. Davis"]“We want to send a message to corporations like BP so that they will take more preventive measures in the future. The more costly their punishment, the more money they will spend to make sure disasters like this don’t happen again. It’s plain and simple capitalism.”
For Davis, guitarist Munky and bassist Fieldy, this disaster echoes back to the impoverished hometown they grew up in near Bakersfield, California that was landscaped by oil rigs. As a matter of fact, their most recent video ‘Oildale (Leave Me Alone)’ details the struggle of life around oil.
