[lastfm]U2[/lastfm]‘s website reported today that lead singer, Bono, has undergone emergency back surgery. The surgery comes as a result of an injury the singer suffered during tour preparation. The operation on Bono’s back has already caused dates for the U2 360 Tour to be postponed.

Bono will spend the next few days in a hospital in Munich, Germany after which he will return home to rest and recuperate.
So far the only date postponed on the U2 360 Tour is the first date, June 3 in Salt Lake City, Utah. The Salt Lake Tribune has confirmed this date has been cancelled but will be rescheduled.
